Germany sees 370% rise in Indian student applications as MSc in AI interest and career prospects drive demand

Germany has recorded a 370% year-on-year increase in applications from Indian students during H1 2026, according to Leap Scholar’s Germany Study-to-Work Report. The report, based on data from over 1,24,000 aspirants, highlights rising demand for AI and technology programmes, with MSc Artificial Intelligence interest increasing 600%. Affordability, employment prospects, post-study work options and return on investment are emerging as the primary factors influencing Indian students’ study-abroad decisions.
